A threading stop

South bend provides a 1/4" x 20 tpi hole in the front of the cross slide. This is intended for use with a threading stop attachment. The threading stop clamps to the ways of the cross slide and the bolt is set so that as the cross slide is wound in the knurled knob hits the threading stop. This makes it easy to put the cross slide back into position after it has been withdrawn at the end of a cut. This also prohibits the cross slide from being wound in too far and prevents "one turn" errors.
